Ateme is a global provider of compression solutions for broadcast cable, DTT, DTH, IPTV, and OTT. Founded in 1991, the company now has offices around the globe and is focused on helping tier-one content providers, service providers, and streaming platforms boost their viewership and subscriber numbers, while enabling them to lower the total cost of video transmission from acquisition to delivery.
VideoLAN
Originally famous for the open-source VLC media player, VideoLAN’s most recent star product is the dav1d AV1 decoder. Dav1d became the most-used AV1 decoder with its adoption by Android and Apple, and it’s now used in every browser from Safari to Chrome to Edge to Firefox and in most of the Android, iOS, Mac OS, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
Visionular
Visionular provides video encoding and ultra-high-definition solutions to a wide range of clients across a variety of use cases. The company was officially launched in July 2018, shortly after the AV1 standard was released. The founders were heavily engaged in AV1 standard development, and Visionular’s launch was intentionally tied to the AV1 timeline.
