AOM Decoder April 2025
The Alliance for Open Media has been busy these past few months. First, we’ve been growing our AOMedia Adoption Showcase, which now features stories from twelve AV1 adopters, including new additions Meta, Microsoft, Netflix, NETINT, and Synamedia. Read more about the adoption showcase in our recent update release.
Industry Events
Second, our members have been active at some key industry events. In October 2024, AOMedia members traveled to Abu Dhabi for ICIP 2024. During a half-day industry workshop, presenters from AOMedia members Google, Meta, Apple and Tencent shared the latest on the AOMedia next-generation video coding standard and provided status updates from AOMedia working groups and subgroups. The team also shared production use cases from Meta and Google and talked through some challenges and innovations that came from that work. The session was kindly sponsored by Google and Meta. Learn more about the session in our recent blog.
A host of AOMedia members were also present at NAB 2025 this year. Teams from Bitmovin, Ittiam Systems, NETINT, Synamedia, Vimeo and Visionular were all on hand, showcasing their technology and discussing the latest on AV1. Read our pre-show blog here.
